How to Prepare for Baby Photoshoot
Time the Shoot Well
Best time: Within the first 5-14 days after birth — they’re sleepier, curlier, and easier to pose.
Feed Before the Shoot
A full tummy = a sleepy, content baby.
Try to feed your baby right before the session starts or when you arrive if it’s at a studio.
Dress Baby in Easy-to-Remove Clothing
Use loose, easy-off outfits to avoid waking baby during changes. Avoid anything that leaves marks on the skin (tight socks, elastic bands, etc.).
Bring Essentials
- Diapers, wipes, burp cloths
- Extra outfits (for baby and parents – in case of accidents!)
- Pacifier (if they take one)
- Swaddles and favorite blankets
Relax!
Babies pick up on stress. The calmer you are, the more relaxed they’ll be. Let the photographer handle posing and soothing – they’re usually pros at baby whispering.
